About This 2016 Honda Fit LX Hatchback

This 2016 Honda Fit LX is a 4-door hatchback carrying 101,799 miles — a number that tells you this car has been lived in, but for a Honda Fit, it's far from a red flag. The Fit platform is widely known for its ability to push well past 150,000 and even 200,000 miles with basic maintenance, making this mileage range a sweet spot for budget-conscious buyers who still want years of reliable transportation ahead of them. The LX trim represents the honest, no-nonsense entry point into the Fit lineup — straightforward to own, easy to insure, and inexpensive to maintain.

2016 Honda Fit Performance and Engine

Under the hood sits Honda's 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with i-VTEC variable valve timing technology — a powertrain combination Honda has refined over decades. The result is an engine that punches above its displacement, delivering responsive acceleration in city traffic while returning impressive fuel economy on Georgia's highways. Paired with a CVT with G-Shift Control, the transmission smooths out power delivery and adapts intelligently to your driving rhythm, whether you're navigating Marietta's busier corridors or cruising out to the suburbs. The front-wheel-drive layout keeps handling predictable and maintenance costs straightforward.

Honda Fit Features and Interior

Practical Design That Punches Above Its Class

The 2016 Fit LX comes equipped with Honda's signature Magic Seat system — one of the most genuinely useful cargo solutions in any small car on the market. The rear seats fold in multiple configurations, turning this compact hatchback into a surprisingly capable hauler for furniture runs, weekend gear, or bike transport. Front passengers enjoy a comfortable, upright seating position with good visibility, and the controls are clean and intuitive. The LX includes power windows, air conditioning, a rearview camera, Bluetooth audio connectivity, and a multi-angle rear camera — features that matter every single day.

Honda Fit Reliability and Ownership

One of the Most Trusted Small Cars on the Road

The Honda Fit consistently earns top marks from independent reliability agencies and long-term owner communities alike. The sixth-generation Fit — which includes this 2016 model — benefits from Honda's mature understanding of compact car engineering. The 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine is known for minimal oil consumption, longevity, and low-cost repairs. The CVT in this generation has proven durable when fluids are serviced on schedule. Owners frequently report that maintenance costs are among the lowest in any vehicle class, and the Fit's simple mechanical layout means fewer surprises at the shop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 2016 Honda Fit a good buy?

Yes — the 2016 Honda Fit is widely regarded as one of the best small cars of its generation. Its combination of fuel efficiency, interior versatility through the Magic Seat system, and Honda's proven reliability make it an outstanding value in the used car market, especially for daily commuters and first-time buyers.

How many miles is too many for a used Honda Fit?

For a Honda Fit with documented maintenance history, 100,000 miles is not a concern. These engines and drivetrains routinely last 180,000 to 200,000 miles or more with routine oil changes, fluid services, and basic upkeep. At 101,799 miles, this example still has substantial life ahead of it.

What does the 2016 Honda Fit LX trim include?

The LX is the base trim for the Fit lineup, but it's well-equipped for everyday driving. It includes Bluetooth audio, a rearview camera, air conditioning, power windows and locks, and Honda's Magic Seat rear cargo system. It delivers essential modern features without the added complexity of higher trims.

Is the CVT transmission in the 2016 Honda Fit reliable?

Yes — Honda's CVT in the 2016 Fit has proven reliable for most owners when properly maintained. The key is regular transmission fluid changes. Buyers who keep up with the recommended service intervals typically experience smooth, trouble-free operation well into high mileage territory.

Is the Honda Fit good on gas?

Absolutely. The 2016 Honda Fit LX with the CVT is rated for strong fuel economy in both city and highway driving, making it one of the most cost-effective non-hybrid cars available. For Marietta commuters dealing with daily stop-and-go traffic, the Fit's efficiency is a genuine everyday advantage.
